Dans une perspective diachronique et culturellement située, l’objectif de l’article sera, dans un premier temps, de montrer que le bien-être est une valeur évolutive aux prismes des attentes sociétales. The need to grow, learn and develop – how does management affect motivation for professional development?

This article argues that knowledge management and social recognition is important for organisational learning and professional self-esteem in academic libraries. An anonymous survey was issued in 2016 to investigate how library staff’s self-esteem is affected by how they experience their management’s view and overview of their knowledge. The need for what Axel Honneth refers to as social recognition will also be discussed as an important part of how professional self-esteem and work satisfaction is experienced and further how this affects motivation to participate in professional development.

Prior to starting up the University of Valencia's (UV) institutional repository, we assessed this institution's real output of periodical publications and drew up the most comprehensive list possible. We also described the visibility of the contents on the Internet. -- Method. We searched the ISSN database and the UV's library catalogue for journals in which the UV is included in the statement of responsibility. -- Results. These two sources did not provide sufficient information, as the University was not listed in all the relevant journals as a publishing entity. Se estudia la producción española de documentación e información médicas, en sus distintas áreas de especialización, hasta el año 1991. Se analiza el crecimiento de la producción de los diferentes tipos de documentos sobre la disciplina, así como las materias, instituciones de procedencia y distribución geográfica . Los resultados muestran la gran dispersión de los trabajos sobre el tema y el predominio de los estudios dedicados a la documentación clínica, producidos en instituciones hospitalarias.
